The development of this Global Projects and Experts resource was overseen by Dr. Barbara Hutchinson, Director of International Program Development at the University of Arizona (UA), and Dale LaFleur, Assistant Director of International Affairs at the UA as part of the new Global Engagement Gateway at the University of Arizona. It was built by the Ferguson Lynch consulting and web architect firm.

Initial funding for this site in 2009 was provided by the Vice Provost for Outreach and Global Initiatives, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the College of Engineering, the College of Education, and the Eller College of Management.

In 2010, continued funding was received from the Vice Provost for Outreach and Global Initiatives, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the College of Engineering and additional funding was received from the College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, the College of Medicine, the College of Pharmacy, the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, and the University Libraries.
